White Spring ahead!

If Couture Fashion Week in Paris is a good indicator of what our Spring might look like we can certainly say that we are up for a white Spring ahead! Almost all from Alexis Mabille to Valentino showed at least one full white outfit for upcoming Spring season.

I don't know what your stand is on wearing white but I must say that I almost never wore full white outfit, partly for fear of looking wider but also due to the fact that during work week I wear one outfit for the whole work day and I am not so sure that full white outfit would stay white all through the day.

Nevertheless, I decided to give it a shoot after seeing these amazingly wearable couture pieces shown on Paris runway during last couple of days. For the start, I am looking for white stilletoes to get in the full white mood periodically.

Surely, I cannot forget my always favorite McQueen lead by extraordinary Sarah Burton who is faitfully following late Alexanders signature with her all white Pre-Fall 2013. collection as the house canceled Paris show this year.

Kindness is the new black.

"The world is a dangerous place not because of those who do evil,
but because of those who look on and do nothing."
                                                                          Albert Einstein

This week, as many other I found inspiration for my blog post in regular people's every day acts of kindness which are multiplying as economies around the world tumble down with rapid speed and those at power fail to think of us, little people and continue to think of profit, self gain and failing regulations and processes claim they must follow.

So while church in Croatia is spending money on advertising to stop basic sex-ed in schools and not allowing homeless people to find shelter in "God's house" so they sleep under the ATM's and on cold park benches; government officials are debating on who's fault it is that snow hasn't been cleaned so disabled neighbor in a wheelchairs with no glows cleans the slow with a shovel, every day people started to pay more attention and take action for their fellow humans in need.

In many  interviews I did journalist asked me to classify this page, my blog as fashion or lifestyle/personal blog and my answer has always been the same, for me, fashion is a lifestyle and my lifestyle includes all life experiences that I go through, my observations of the current environmental, social and political situation as well as love lessons and lyrics that I write thereafter.

For me, fashion is a form of activism and it should never fail to raise it's powerful, fabulous and creative voice, their following and the power of social media to bring attention to important matters and CALL TO ACTION in order to mobilize and motivate the masses to help those in need.

“If you wait until you can do everything for everybody, instead of something for somebody,
you’ll end up not doing nothing for nobody.”
Malcom Bane

More specifically...here is the most recent case to illustrate my point:

last week in Croatia man who was disabled in war and was short after forgotten by the same country he helped to defend wrote a short note on a little piece of paper and left it on the buss stop in his neighborhood: "I am disabled and poor, if somebody has used shoes size 46, please let me know." One lady who saw his message shared it on Facebook, I as many others shared the same photo. A friend of my boyfriend asked me to call this man so he can donate one of his shoes, so I did. The men seemed a bit shy, he thanked me at least five times and he joked on his own expense, saying how he doesn't feel like Cinderella any more as he got three pairs already.e Facebook page was soon created by the lady who took the photo to help others in similar need of clothing, home appliances and shoes.

Most of the people who are in a desperate need of help like this don't have Facebook or Internet for that matter so the best thing would be to look around you, just look around every day and if you can - help.

By help I don't mean that you give cash or coins to every single person who begs for it at the corner but take extra clothes from home or other things you don't need, expecially now during Winter cold, look that person in their eyes rather then looking away and passing by them, smile and hand them as a gift what you don't need anyways. Trust me, giving will feel like the gift to you as well!

Did you already help or join any of the organizations to volunteer your time our donate your used clothes or household items ladies?

“For women, shoes are the most important. Good shoes take you good places.”
Seo Min Hyun

With everyone around me complaining about cold Winter weather, work overload and declining economy, I just couldn't stop thinking ahead, in a more positive, brighter and sexier direction - towards Spring 2013. shoe collections.

I mean, lets face it, getting up on a pair of super hot heels makes you walk prouder, it shoots up your confidence, lengthens your legs and makes your step more elegant. We women - we just have special place in our heart for gorgeous shoes!

For this post I selected my favorite shoe models from Spring 2013. collections. Naturally, in my top 5 there is always McQueen (golden fly slippers and gold sandals), Charlote Olympia and Kirkwood gold and silver detailing sandals but this season I also got my eyes on a fabulous pairs of other designer shoes bellow.

Aquazzura is my new discovery in terms of shoe brands, it is an Italian luxury shoe brand founded in Florence by footwear designer Edfardo Osorio who attended the college of fashion and London's Central Saint Martins. These colorful sandals and snake skin pumps in ultra modern orange for Spring surely got my attention!

“You want to fall in love with a shoe, go ahead. A shoe can’t love you back, but, on the other hand, a shoe can’t hurt you too deeply either. And there are so many nice-looking shoes.”
Allan Sherman

Most of designers went all out with Spring colors and due to the fact that we don't really have real Spring in last couple of years here in Europe but it rather looks more like Summer right away I prefer to shop for sandals versus closed pumps or stilletoes.

....AND....last but not least, the fabulous Giuseppe Zanotti sandals, these are on my 'I will die if I don't have' list for Spring.

With this post ladies I dare you not to complain about snow, Winter and cold but rather to concentrate on saving, earning and dreaming about these heavenly fabulous Spring shoes!

The best of men's Fall/Winter 2013.

Photo source: www.style.com | John Varvatos AW 2013.

Some of my male readers tell me that I am neglecting men's fashion heavily which is definitely the case since obviously most of my interest lies with women's apparel. On the other hand I really enjoy shopping with and for my boyfriend who really has great style, likes fashion and pays special attention to accessories (watches, sunglasses, shoes, belts) he wears.

So with this new season I definitely commit to follow, comment and write about men's fashion more often as it is getting much more interesting and creative then it was ever before. I have been following London and now Milan fashion weeks for season AW 2013. and found some really amazing pieces.

The outfit I find my boyfriend most sexy in are gray sweatpants and white t-shirt, I love the big outer pocket sweatpants which Christopher Reaburn shown on his AW 2013. show.

Another outfit I find men most attractive in are the well tailored and fitted suits, preferably black or gray. This AW 2013. season favorites in suite department for me were Burberry Prorsum (strongest in outerwear), John Varvatos, Sarah Burton did a lovely debut with of house McQueen's men's collection (the label recently opened a men's shop on Savile Row) with my favorite being this amazing red velvet jacket second bellow and I absolutely adore Bottega Veneta's men's collection with it's very elegant and sophisticated turn to men's tailored suites with skinny pant, super clean lines and amazing fabrics.

I found John Varvatos and Bottega Veneta to have most complete 'story' behind their collections and I love the way lines were accessorized and styled for their shows in Milan. John Varvatos mysterious men with a hat, briefcase and a tailored sports jacket means business while looking super sexy! I would call the collection rockerish mix of New York cool.

Since the men's fashion week in Milan is still ongoing you can see the schedule of the rest of the shows here

What is your favorite collection so far? What do you prefer to see your men wearing lovelies? :)

Vintage store in Budapest.

Today during my lunch break instead of picking up lunch and eating it while working at my desk I messaged my friend Katarina (yes we have the same name) and we went to explore small vintage store called simply "Vintage" located right in front of our office building near Corvin tower at Kisfaludy street.

The store gets vintage clothes and accessories in bulk from UK and it just got a shipment of faux fur and real fur coats as we arrived, the ladies were unpacking them so the store was totally packed and it was a mess.

As many other vintage places these days this one was also packed with vintage and contemporary second hand pieces and not to organized but if you look closely and spend some time there you can find real gems!

So I did!

I found a real cute, well preserved faux fur, soft coat in chocolate brown waist lenght with surprise, surprise sleeves long enough for my long arms! Since I am 6'1'' I am often having trouble finding jackets which are size 36 with long enough sleeves but this one although vintage fit me like a glow. The coat cost me only about 30 Euros which is a great price for such a fabulous warm vintage coat.

Also, I bought three chic vintage pins to bedazzle my new fur coat with.

How do you like it lovelies? Please don't hesitate to share with me a list of your favorite vintage shops all over the world as I am traveling quite a lot for work and for my blog I might as well check them out during some of my future trips!

p.s. I want to thank Lucija from Osijek Croatia who shared with me some AMAZING photos of her vintage finds, I can't wait to share these photos with you tommorrow! Keep them coming lovelies! Sharing is caring!

Whenever I go into great vintage stores, I wonder why we ever buy new things.”

Year 2013. is the start of something beautiful!

This is my first post in 2013. and with this post I would like to first and foremost thank you, my lovely followers for an amazing year for my blog. In 2012.

I got many creative messages, comments, supportive emails, criticism and great questions from you which helped my blog grow and prosper making it even more fun for me to write and cover the topics you like to read about while still keeping it in line with who I am and what I would like my blog to be. So again, THANK YOU for support and following me, I learned quite a lot from you and had a chance to even meet with some of you in person or digitally and become great friends with.

Also, I would love to thank my Glam publishing team, not only these girls rock at what they do, but they are also super funny and gorgeous from what I could see from their original video holiday card :) Fiona, Ally and Izan - you ladies rock!

PARTNERS.
Finally, I would like to thank the partners and sponsors of my blog with whom I collaborated with on some great campaigns this year like: Swarovski Elements, Red Bull, Fiat, Butterfly Twist, Ženski rokovnik etc.

INTERVIEWS.
In 2012 I was honored to interview some of the already established fashion and jewelry designers but also some very talented young designers and fashion industry professionals like fashion designers: Teo Perić, Ada Zanditon, Sonja Lamut, La Luna London, Aba Drvar Tomičić and Dominika Mandić; make up artist Tom Pecheux; fashion illustrator Lora Vran; musician Carl Bailey; closet organizer Erin Mack and photographer Daša Gajić.

IN PRESS.
In addition I was also interviewed by other wonderful bloggers and fashion portals some of which are Krpa.hr amazing portal with which I am collaborating whenever there is a chance, Cromoda.hr, Stilueta blog and other print and online press appearances which you can see here. Last year I was also given an amazing opportunity to write my own print column for monthly edition of Croatian lifestyle magazine - BudiIn which comes out in distribution of one million every second Wednesday of the month.

LINES OF LIFE.
On a more personal note, from lines of life, this year I grew quite a lot. I learned how to forgive (Double face love , What would you do for love?)  , how to love more, I learned how to adapt quickly to new things life throws at me now when I am living in between Spain and Hungary (Balancing it all, Living in between to countries, Running in new heels) I learned to give without thinking absolutely anything in return, I learned who are my true friends and gained many new friends.

With this post and a big THANK YOU I am closing last year and opening exciting 2013. posting season! :)
