My Free People shopping list for Fall

Since they are one of my affiliates and I already wrote about this brand as one of my Top 10 favorite fashion brands, I spend a fair amount of time browsing through Free People website, however since they haven't had a store in Europe, I was bound to continue to purchase only online, which was good because there are always sales and some online exclusives, but not so good if you look at the amount of money I paid for shipment through the years. :)

This is why I am extra happy knowing that Free People (part of Urban Outfitters group) is finally opening a store location in Europe, more specifically in London. Ok, London is not still in Croatia but I am traveling via London a lot so this might be one of my next shopping routes. Bellow you can see a sneak preview of the Free People FW 2012. Campaign video with Karlie Kloss & Aline Weber

While at it, I picked couple of "I will die if I don't buy" items and saved them in my shopping card until my next salary. Bellow you can see my shopping/wish list.

I love how Free People dress fit and somehow I always pick the ones with open back (yes I know, this means wearing no bra, ouu well! ;) ).

I am still thinking if I should get the black lace dress which is available in couple of more colors but I prefer black, but I am certain I need and want the maxi bellow.

I got similar massive cardigan (maybe a bit shorter) last year in Zagreb from Scotch & Soda and although it was warm it stretched a lot in the first wash. This one is not a plain wool, it is a blend so it won't be itchy and it won't stretch, based on the website reviews it is worth 1043 kn.

Flower power cardigan (this is the same one in 2 different colors)

Don't you totally adore the shirt bellow? There is no reviews on the website about it yet but I am getting it for sure, it is nicely tailored, made out of vegan leather which is super cool and I think I will get a lot of wears out of this one for sure, it goes perfectly with my rusty red jeans and biker boots.

I love the style and hot pink color of these destroyed skinnies (I also like the yellow ones they have) I am just not yet sure if I am skinny enough to wear them as there is only 2% spandex in them, plus the price is a bit high.

I had a genuine leather skirt like this, and if you remember from one of my older posts, my mum hot washed it and it shrunk to Barbie size (RIP). So this is a true reason behind why I need the skirt bellow. It is not on trend but timeless actually, I can wear it year around and it really goes with everything.

My boyfriend said he would kill for these Chucks in his size and since military look and colors are making a comeback this Fall I am thinking about getting these and wear them event to work on Fridays. I do have couple of pairs of Chucks in lighter colors but not for the rainy and foggy Fall weather.

Did you ever order anything from Free People online or bought from their store? What are your experiences? How do you like my selection above? ;)

Envy Room SS 2012. collection

Today I received lovely photos of Envy Room’s collection SS 2012. One of the dresses - form fitting beige color maxi open back dress, particularly impressed me; I will go to try it on as soon as I am back in Croatia and possibly get it for one of the weddings I am attending in next two months.

You can see the remaining of Envy Room SS 2012. collection here & interview with the designer duo here.

Which of these dresses would you wear?

Fashion designer crush: Juan Vidal

Spending a lot of time in Madrid Spain lately, I became curious about Spanish fashion and local

designers. This time I decided to feature one I found particularly interesting.

The son, grandson and great-grandson of tailors while his mother held a boutique, Juan Vidal has grown up surrounded by fabric and patterns. After a childhood defined by fashion, his career choice came as no surprise and he was soon to become one of the exponents of new design from Valencia, on Spain’s east coast.

His talent became obvious at an early age and he produced his first designs when he was just 15. Later, he would begin his Fine Art studies at the University of Barcelona, UB, only to change his mind after the first cycle and transfer to a specialist fashion course at the Felicidad Duce School of Design and Fashion.

In September 2005 Juan participated in Barcelona’s ModaFAD, where he won the Best Collection award. The following year, he presented his first professional collection at Bread & Butter Barcelona and Pasarela Barcelona (July 2006), and went on to reap success at the Pasarela Barcelona, Gaudí Novias, Barcelona Bridal Week, Ego Cibeles, South Cádiz and Valencia Fashion Week.

In 2009, he won Revlon’s Best Collection Award and in 2010, the Tendencias Moda Designer of the Year award before going on to win Peronda’s Best Collection awards for his Autumn-Winter 2011 and Spring-Summer 2012 collections in 2011.

With his participation in the International Zip Zone Paris fairin October, where he received an excellent response from international buyers, 2011 has proven to be a key year for the designer’s entry into the international arena.

His artistic training is evident in his use of colour, as well as in his clearly architectural perception of volume. It is also imprinted on his use of fabrics, to which he adds his personal touch in the form of exquisite embroidery, appliqués and other expert techniques.

Juan Vidal’s creations are designed with a very chic, sensitive woman in mind; one who, while looking towards the future is familiar with classic cultural references and knows how to appreciate detail.

Here you can see the photos from Juan Vidal's Spring 2012. Collection.

Bringing the sexy back!

Other then maxi dresses, sequence pieces and lace I absolutely adore backless dresses and shirts, not so much summer shirts as the cashmere backless winter dresses and/or sweaters, just like the black one I got from Rugby Ralph Lauren two years ago. This sweater actually motivated me to look for maxi backless dresses and inspired me to write this post.

Holiday season is therefore great for me as I got to wear flashy pieces I like on all of these Christmas and New Years parties J Bellow I have selected some of the lovely backless pieces. Tomorrow I have scheduled a motivational post with gorgeous photos of maxi dresses which I definitely recommend for all of the tall girls out there – I am telling you, maxis are a guaranteed stand out.

Do you own any open back pieces lovelies? What do you like about them and how do you where them? If not, why not?

Summer essentials: Just add water!

In preparation for summer holidays I have compiled a list of my summer essentials for good quality summer vacation. No matter how many days, weeks it might at the end last due to my busy work schedule, I know it will be fabulous as long as I spend it with dear people, relaxing and having fun.

Without further due, I have selected some basics out of which one could compile variety of summer looks day to night while still not going overweight in luggage.

Also, there are some rules to follow in order to have a relaxing vacation….

#1 It’s ok to be lazy…
#2 Spend time alone to clear your head & unwine...
#3 Don't forget to pack your favorite beach read...
#4 This Summer - its all about maxi (not body weight but dresses & skirts) be sure to pack a piece or two to wear as a beach cover-up or to romantic dinner afterwards. Here are my favorites. During summer - you can also go all out with jewelry - just make sure you then tone down with outfit colors and patterns.
#5 Neon colors are very much in this season - You will definitely not go unnoticed wearing these color swimwear or dresses – color it up for summer!

#6 Sun is ruthless to your skin and your health – be sure to hydrate a lot!
#7 ....and protect your head with wearing one of these stylish summer hats!
#8 I like to use summer to rest my feet so I keep my footwear comfortable but stylish - bellow is my selection of fabulous summer sandals.
#9 A piece of clothing you hopefully spend the most summer in is your favorite bikini or a fabulous one piece suite. I have selected a number of pieces for different body types and budgets.
#10 If all of the rules above are completed - I am sure the #10 will come as given. Summer romance is definitely always more impactful and positive although many times quit light and breezy then any relationships during the year - so go ahead - smooch a lot during summer!
