The sweater.

Jil Sander Picasso sweater - Harper's Bazaar Russia

Good evening ladies! As all of you passionate fashionistas might have noticed  from browsing the videos, pics and editorials of FW 2012. collection designers worldwide want us to wear more sweaters this fall and winter.

Well, I happen to be quite opinionated when it comes to sweaters, just like my sister happens to be quite opinionated about shirts ever since she managed to dress herself or scream in rebellion, her rules are: no collar, no buttons. With that being said, my two main rules for sweaters are: no itchy no stretchy.

It took me quite a few years to get over the horror and trauma of mums and grandmas organic wool, polar-winter ready homemade snow flake and reindeer sweaters. I didn't just jump in the trend, I tested it slowly, gently and pricey with Ralph Lauren soft cashmere open back cardigan (RIP) - which my mum washed two years ago with regular laundry and shrunk it to barbie size.

Last year (you were all my witness) got myself a really comfy and warm Bershka cotton mix. as my boyfriend calls is - "Heidi sweater". I wore it a lot actually but after couple of washes it started breaking my rule #2, it started stretching in width and shriking in lenght.

However! I still didn't gave up on wearing sweaters so I have made myself a wishlist of FW 2012. sweaters which might adhere to both of my rules. How do you like them?
Peter Jensen / La Garconne Moderne / Phillip Lim / Rag & Bone / Alexander Wang

Acne (both)

Marcus Lupfer / Phillip Lim

Aubin & Wils / Miss Selfridge

Mary Katrantzou / Sonia by Sonia Rykiel

Collette by Collette Dinnigan / H&M

If you know of any better please do share links, I am on a hunt for my new sweater collection.

MY TOP 10 FASHION BRANDS: Miss Selfridge

There are many reasons why Miss Selfridge is one of my favorite brands. I used to shop in Miss Seldfridge bircks and mortar stores iz UK, Madrid and Zagreba and now I mostly shop online. Last thing I ordered is this mint and scull scarf bellow and one mint peace bracelet.

What I love about Miss Selfridge the most is that they have great prices, modern prints and fabrications, the close is true to size and I usually pick natural fabrications in which my skin can breath. Bellow is the selection of cool pieces I found in last couple of weeks on Miss Seldfridge online shop.

I love that they have "Going Out" shop and other compassion shopping sections which help me choose and find pieces faster. Since I work for big multinational company I often try to find clothes and dresses particularly which I can wear day to night, bellow is the selection of couple of those, price range for these is from 30 to 50 Euros.

I also very much love the origami and 3D one shoulder dresses in beige-black and red bellow which I would recommend as evening wear both for business and some other semi-formal evening parties.

There is also lovely selection of "Going out" dresses, I am currently obsessed with dresses which have sheer parts and peplum.

I found this cute bondage black fitted dress with bright color wrap detailing which I love but I got the feeling it would be super short on me since I am quite tall with long legs.

Those of you who follow me on Facebook know how much I adore McQueen and scull details, mostly on jewelry and accessories. Last time I ordered from Miss Selfridge online store I was just about to go to Madrid so I entered Madrid address as shipping one and since I was in a hurry I miss-typed the zip code and apartment number, the order was couple of days late but they made some extra efforts and had it found me for which I am so so so grateful, especially since it was totally my fault.

I am trying to get these quite rubber flats for this summer, hopefully they will still have it my size by the time I make my order ;) Since, I think recently they also have a free iPhone app through which you can browse, share and shop on the go which can be a handy feature.

I never before ordered shoes from this site so I cannot tell you how they run in terms of size and quality but bellow are the ones I have on my Summer WANT list :)

What are your experiences with Miss Seldfridge products and online ordering lovelies?

Dreft Fashion Week Zagreb favorites

Lenardo Cano FW 2012/13 - Madrid

Long time no post when I probably should have considering that Dreft Fashion Week Zagreb has been going on in my city last week, but wearing two hats during this event - PR for main event sponsor and naturally a blogger and a fashion lover got the best of me, not sparing one second of my week.

Nevertheless, I managed to complete all my work related task and fly over to the wedding at beautiful Dubrovnik (post shall follow) on Saturday night. Dreft Fashion Week Zagreb has traditionally hosted some young Croatian and well known international designers and with this post I present you my favorites from both camps.

Is obviously specially intrigued with  shapes and volume, his collections are over the top voluminous and female curves and joints exaggerated while still symmetrical and quite theatrical.  I loved the detailing and 3D fabrication effect he has given to the pieces with combining different sowing technics with fabric patterns. Arabian influence is quite visible in this collection but my favorite is the way he made leather shirts fits so naturally and comfortably as if they are made of cotton. Also, I am quite impressed with the way he made woolen pieces so voluminous. Although quite coutureish still very wearable collection!

In my review of Basso & Brooke collection from last years DFWZ you could have seen how much I love digital print & florals. Hermione de Paula didn't fail to impress me with her feminine, female figure faltering and oh so wearable «Marguerute's Menagerie» collection of shoes and clothes. She indeed managed to evoke the dark Lolita she was inspired by when creating this collection. I loved the way she played with floral prints which transformed into animalistic shapes & the way tops and bottoms are naturally fitting together but still gorgeous as separates.

Has narrated a quite emotional story with his collection.Judging by the looks at people's faces in Zagreb many didn't really get it, which I am sorry for.  His collection "Selam 1 and 2" is envisioned as a pathway in between life and death, leading the soul to another world, influence of the Muslim culture is more then noticeable. Safak Tokur used great quality materials and presented his collection in quite an innovative way. I loved the way he doubled up the shoes so each men's shoe looked like it is glued on another one.

MARTINA SPORIŠ
Is a young Croatian designer whose intention is always to surpise and/or shock her audience. She described her collection as a combination of punk and barok, double-faced, zip & unzip combo. Martina showed her great tailoring skills and although not a great quality materials were used she has showed an amazing potential to create that couture - RTW combo which sells well! Great job Martina!

This line is divided on two lines: main one and the black line, although usually two opposites, in the FW 2012/13 collection these two lines have combined and matched into one whole. Featuring quite a androgynous, monochromatic, wearable & simple collection. I loved the way that cotton and wool/cashmere were forming spiderweb affect making simple tailoring & fabrication more daring & effortlessly sexy.

IGGY POPOVIĆ
Has positively surprised me on and off the runway with his simplicity, politeness and kindness to his show team. His 50's inspired collection is flirty, soft falling, curve hugging, playful and quite commercial. The collection has flirted with shapes of university and prep school uniforms, rockabilly stage and baseball Americana look. I loved the floral fabrication in inner pockets of shorts and gorgeously tailored nude pajama pants.Casual clothes made of luxurious fabrics, lace and silk? Yes please! I'll take it any day!
